Identification: Covell, Moths of Eastern North America, Page 327. The wings are brown, variable, darker beyond the straight ante-median line. Note the notch in the outer margin of forewing in males (absent in females). There will be a small black apical dash in both sexes. The caterpillar host plants are ragweed, chrysanthemum, and horseradish.
