Identification: Covell, Moths of Eastern North America, Page 322. The forewing is whitish-gray with some yellowish in the outer parts. The lines are sharp and jagged, thickest at the costa. The reniform spot is filled with yellow. The hindwing has three black lines (Florida specimens are paler that at other locations). The caterpillar host plants are lichens.
