Anacardiaceae (Cashew)

 

This family of plants is also known as Sumac Family. It consists of trees, shrubs and a few woody vines with resinous sap. In a few species the resin is caustic and poisonous to the skin. Throughout the world there is about 600 species and about 15 that are native to North America; three are naturalized trees and six native shrubs; one woody vine.
