Identification (Covell, Moths of Eastern North America, Pg. 56) - The outer margins of the forewing and hindwing are scalloped. The forewing is pale gray with brown lines and shading. There will be two translucent spots near the apex. The hindwing is pale brown with darker brown shading. Caterpillar host plants are ash trees and lilac.
