Identification: Covell, Moths of Eastern North America, Page 328. The forewing is pale grayish-brown with orange tinting near the apex, surrounded by some bluish-gray shading. There will be an oblique whitish line from the inner 1/3 of the costa that meets the bottom of the post-median line at the inner margin. The hindwing is brown with an uneven median line. The caterpillar host plants are willow and poplar.
