Identification: Forewing is tan, often tinged with orange and lightly speckled with black; some white along the veins. The post-median line is a series of small, widely spaced black dots with a white dot where the cubitus and media veins meet (these are longitudinal veins that are often clearly marked on the forewing). A black shade line slants inward from the forewing apex. The caterpillar host plants are alfalfa, corn and other grains.
