Identification: Covell, Moths of Eastern North America, Page 400 -- The wings are dark brown with white lines. The median line is broken, very narrow toward the inner margin. The hindwing median line is complete, somewhat tapering, with an outward bulge at midpoint. The caterpillar host plants are amaranth, beets, chard, potatoes, and various greenhouse plants.
