Identification: Covell, Moths of Eastern North America, Page 386. The wings are pale gray with many fine, broken, dotted or scalloped lines. The median area in males is defined by a wide blackish ante-median line and a curved upper half of the post-median line (lower half is absent). The median area is the same color as rest of forewing in males (darker brown in females). Tiny black discal dots appears on all wings. Caterpillar host plants are low growth plants such as knotweed and smartweed.
