Identification: Covell, Jr., Moths of Eastern North America, Page 171. Moth is purplish-gray from the base to the post-median line of the forewing, and will have a black apical spot. The lines are prominent, yellow, and shaded with brown. Both lines are fairly straight in males and gently curved in females. The hindwing is grayish-brown, darker beyond the pale median line. The caterpillar host plant is unrecorded.
