Identification: Covell, Moths of Eastern North America, Page 355. The wings are whitish, speckled and sometimes mottled with brown (grayer in the north). The lines are distinct, sometimes reduced or absent. The post-median line is wavy when present. Caterpillar food stuff is birch, elm, maple, oak, pine and fruit trees.
