Identification: Covell, Moths of Eastern North America, Page 163. The forewing is pale to dark gray or brownish, with yellowish veins and ante-median and post-median lines. The median line, reniform spot, and shading inside the irregular sub-terminal line is darker than the ground color. The hindwing is grayish brown. Caterpillar host plants are oaks.
