Identification: Covell, Moths of Eastern North America, Page 364. The moth is pure white except for yellow branches on the bipectinate antennae. Easily separated from other all-white species by the angled outer margin of the forewing. The caterpillar host plants are apple, birch, elm, maple, oak, and many other trees and shrubs. The elm spanworm moth may become a serious pest.
