The wings are whitish with grayish-brown shading and orangish-brown transverse bands. The reniform spot is blackish. The patches on the forewings are metallic silver, toward the anal angle and in the median band. Silver patches are also present within the row of black spots along the outer margin. The caterpillar host plants are algae that grows on rocks in fast-moving streams.
