Carolina Grasshopper
Dissosteira carolina

The Carolina Grasshopper is usually about 2 inches long, dull-colored with very long hind legs. The antennae is short; forewings are straight and pressed close to the body when at rest. In flight it may display brightly colored hindwings. Its preferred habitat is grasslands, fields and arid places.
