Identification: Covel, Moths of Eastern North America, Page 318. The forewing is grayish-brown to blackish-brown in males, light grayish-brown with pinkish-gray in basal and sub-terminal areas in females. The median area is defined by darker, slightly sinuous ante-median and post-median lines in both sexes. The median area is darker just inside the post-median line. The caterpillar host plant is walnut trees.
