Plant is an upright, branched, rough annual. Preferred
habitat is yards, mea- Leaves are oval-shaped to triangular with prominent veins;
hairy and coarsely saw- Flowers appear from a spiny ball (usually three spaced at intervals along the stem). The slender orange flowers protrude from the ball. Flowers occur in the summer. Lions Ear is also an immigrant from southern Africa; considered an occasional weed in thickets and barn lots. |
