Identification: Covell, Moths of Eastern North America, Page 62. The forewing is white, variably dusted and spotted with brown and black. The lines are obscure. The ante-median and median lines are usually the most distinct. The reniform spot is gray with sharp, black inner half. The hindwing is gray-white with faint, darker gray median line. Caterpillar host plant is lichen.
