Identification (Covell): Forewing is uniformly dark brown in the basal and sub-terminal areas. The median area is grayish brown with various white patches in the upper portion; white dusting below the apex. The ante-median and post-median lines are thick, black and complete. The ante-median line is sharply toothed. There may be a thin basal dash, but no lengthwise black streak across the forewing. The hindwing is brown with vague traces of the median and sub-terminal lines. Caterpillar host plants are jack and scrub pine
