Identification Covell, Moths of Eastern North America, Page 40 -- The body and wings are dark brown. Black shading covers the upper two-thirds of the forewing beyond a nearly straight median line. The reniform spot is round and pale tan in color. The caterpillar host plants are grapes. Adult moths sip nectar from various flowers.
