Identification: Covell, Moths of Eastern North America, Page 410. The forewing is yellowish-brown, inconspicuous gray shading in post-median and apical half of terminal areas. No prominent markings are evident. The hindwing is brown. Wingspan is 1.7-2.5 cm. The caterpillar host plants are chestnut, beech, hickory, horn beams, oak, and other trees.
