Identification: Covell, Moths of Eastern North America, Page 123. The forewing is yellowish with grayish-brown shading. The orbicular and reniform spots are outlined with ground color. The post-median line and terminal line are a series of tiny black dots. The hindwing is the same color as the forewing, but grayish-brown shading is darker. Caterpillar host plants are cattails and bulrushes.
