White Oleander

Plant is an evergreen shrub with poisonous sap. Preferred habitat is old home sites and roadsides. Distribution is throughout the Escambia region.

Leaves are narrow; widest at the middle to lance-like with a leathery texture.

Flowers are about one inch long; fragrant white, red or pink. Flowering season occurs in the spring and extends into summer.

The plant is widely used as a roadside ornamental.
