Identification Covell, Moths of Eastern North America, Page 163.  The wings are reddish to orangish, often tinted with orange-yellow to brownish; pink luster when fresh. The ante-median and post-median lines are paler than the ground color. There will be tiny black dots where veins cross the post-median line. There will be a black blotch at the bottom of the diffuse median line in some specimens. The caterpillar host plants are live oak and para grass.
