Identification: Covell, Moths of Eastern North America, Page 336. The forewing is bright pink (spring broods may be tinged with orange tones). The median area is yellow except along the outer margin. The pink is often mixed with yellow, softening the pattern in some individuals. The hindwing is white to yellow, variably shaded with pink toward the margin. Caterpillar host plants are scrub oak and viburnums.
