Identification: Wings are whitish, heavily speckled with brown. Lines are blackish-brown, curved toward the outer edge (costa). The post-median line is usually heaviest on the veins, where it forms large triangular spots that point outward. The sub-terminal line is zig-zag and white. The caterpillar host plants are Birch, Oaks, Pine, Poplar, Fir and Spruce
