Plant is an upright, smooth to hairy annual. Preferred habitat is fields and roadsides, waste sites and fields. Distribution is throughout the Escambia region.

Leaves are alternate on the stem; trifoliate (sets of three) with leaflets being widest at the middle; egg-shaped to lance-like and having toothed margins.

Flowers are heads on stalks emerging from the leaf axil. Each floret has five petals; rose to light purple in color. Flowers occur in the spring and summer.

Fruit is a legume.

This clover is a native of Europe.
