Identification Covell, Moths of Eastern North America, Pg. 45. The forewing is gray with yellow and orange veins. The hindwing is mostly orange with a yellow basal patch and median patches at the outer and inner margins. Caterpillar host plants are hickory. sweet gum, sumac and domestic cotton.
