Identification: Covell, Moths of Eastern North America, Page 367. All wings are deeply scalloped. The color is brown with dark purplish-brown lines. The post-median line of forewing is double. The hindwing lines are overlaid with purple. Caterpillar host plants are birch, currant, gooseberry, and maple.
