Identification: Corvell, Moths of Eastern United States, Page 358. Virtually identical to P. denticulata, but smaller (this moth is 3.1 cm wing span), less mottled, with straighter post-medial line that curves gently toward the inner margin. Wings of the female are reduced to less than 1 mm in length. Caterpillar host plants are elm and many other trees.
