Identification: Covell, Moths of Eastern North America, Page 326. The wings are dark mouse gray, darker toward the outer margins. The forewings are squared off at the apex. Lines are blackish. inconspicuous. The orbicular and reniform spots are warm brownish or orangish but inconspicuous black dots in reniform spot is sometimes connected. The hindwing is lightly frosted with whitish. The caterpillar host plant is dead leaves.
