Identification: Covell, Moths of Eastern North America, Page 421. The forewing is bright lemon yellow, longer in females and males. The variable overlay is orange net-like in pattern. The orange-brown ante-median and post-median lines are variably wide and complete, usually meeting above the inner margin to form a V. The hindwing is pale grayosh to orangish, but never pure white. The caterpillar host plants are pines, willows, clover, corn, elm and cherry.
