Identification: Covell, Moths of Eastern North America, Page 410. The forewing is yellowish with vague orange-brown lines and shading. The sharpest marking is a circular brown spot at the midpoint between the post-median and the sub-terminal shades. The female is darker than the male; the spot is thicker and darker. The caterpillar host plant is swamp oak.
