Identification: Oplar, USGS Internet pages, Butterflies of Alabama -- Gloudless Sulfur butterflies are medium sized, with a wingspan of about three inches. Most species of Sulfurs are solid yellow or orange, sometimes with a faint dark border at the wing margin, and a tan spot on the fore wing, or both fore wing and hind wing. Its preferred habitat is fields, meadows, deserts, beaches (during migration) and gardens.
