Identification Covell, Moths of Eastern North America, Pg. 358 -- The forewing is mottled, especially between the thin black lines. The post-median line is sharply toothed near the costa (outer margin), bulging inward above the inner margin, where it approaches the median line. Caterpillar host plants are various trees found in the coastal region.
