Identification Covell, Moths of Eastern North america, Pg. 313. Medium-sized moth, with brown, wood-grained forewing, variably tinted with whitish. There will be a dark brown submarginal patch and shading along the inner margin, covering the long, thin black basal and anal dashes. The hindwing is reddish with black bands. The caterpillar host plants are members of the rose family; apple and cherry.
