Identification: Covell, Moths of Eastern North America, Page 332. The head is yellowish-white. The forewing is ashy gray with inconspicuous scalloped black lines. There will be an irregular white bar along the forewing outer margin that has a downward pointing tooth just beyond the reniform spot. The hindwing is gray.

Caterpillar food stuff is oak.
