Identification: Covell, Moths of Eastern North America, Page 314. The forewing is uniform light gray with no greenish tint or strong black basal shade. The ante-median and post-median lines are farther apart at the inner margin. The subreniform spot is usually conspicuous. The hindwing is deep yellowish orange, with unbroken black border. The caterpillar host plants are hawthorns.
